Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Lingutube (the "Service"), operated by an individual sole trader ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Description of service

Lingutube is a web-based language shadowing tool that lets users search YouTube for caption-ready videos and practise sentence-by-sentence language shadowing. Playback is powered by the YouTube IFrame Player API and is subject to YouTube's Terms of Service.

2. Accounts

You must sign in with a Google account to use the Service. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must not share your account or use another person's account without permission. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Free trial

New accounts receive a 3-day free trial with full access to all Pro features. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial, access is restricted unless you subscribe to a paid plan.

4. Subscriptions and billing

Paid subscriptions are available on a monthly basis. The current subscription price is displayed at checkout. Billing is handled by Paddle, our payment processor. When you subscribe, you are entering into a billing agreement with Paddle, who acts as the Merchant of Record for all transactions. By subscribing you also agree to Paddle's Buyer Terms.

Your subscription renews automatically each month on the anniversary of your sign-up date until you cancel. We will notify you by email before any price changes take effect.

5. Refund policy

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with the Service for any reason, contact us within 30 days of your first payment at support@lingutube.com and we will issue a full refund of that payment — no questions asked.

Refund requests made after 30 days from the date of the relevant charge are evaluated on a case-by-case basis and may be declined. All refunds are processed through Paddle.

6. Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the billing portal inside the app or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then. We do not offer partial-month refunds unless the 30-day money-back guarantee applies.

8. Intellectual property

All content, design, code, and branding of Lingutube is owned by or licensed to us. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of any part of the Service without our written permission. Videos and captions accessed through the Service remain the property of their respective owners and are subject to YouTube's Terms of Service.

9. Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party platforms including Google (sign-in and YouTube playback) and Paddle (payments). Your use of those platforms is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee that any particular video or transcript will be available at any given time, as this depends on third-party platforms outside our control.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator is based, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
